EU INTERFERENCE DEBATE IS JUST ANOTHER STAGE PLAY
THE EU PLENARY SESSION WAS NOTHING MORE THAN A PERFORMANCE. DEBATE OVER ELECTION INTERFERENCE HAS ZERO TO DO WITH PROTECTING DEMOCRACY. IT IS ONLY ABOUT WHO GETS TO WRITE THE RULES FOR THE NEXT ROUND OF CONTROL.
The arguments presented during the session confirm what everyone already knew. States accused others of meddling in local elections. This predictable spectacle of finger-pointing proves the alliance is failing. The core conflict is never about the truth. It is always about jurisdiction and who controls the institutional leash.
The structure of the debate reveals the rot underneath. Instead of any unified front, we saw blatant divisions. Member states used sovereignty claims as mere shields for their own inaction.
Technical jargon simply masked fundamental geopolitical fights for profit. Accusations were traded like cheap currency to buy temporary, worthless alliances. The plenary session showed nothing about concern for the electorate. It was a pathetic display of competing power centers within a rotting bureaucracy.
The debate was nothing but a smokescreen. It successfully distracted from the fact that the foundational principles are already dissolving into dust. We are watching member states actively turn on each other. The illusion of cooperation is peeling away to reveal raw, transactional politics. Public trust is not being defended. It is being used as leverage in an endless negotiation. The theater of power continues. It always does.
