THE BUYOUT SCAM
MICROSOFT AND ITS PEERS ARE STILL PULLING THE SAME STUNT. They dress up mass firings as benign buyouts. This entire charade is the current performance of corporate rot. The pretense of choice is thinner than the profit margin they are trying to protect.
When a company suggests leaving is an option, it means staying is a weakness. These supposed buyouts are not acts of charity. They are cold, calculated procedures to shed worthless overhead. The language of supposed departure is just corporate code for what it actually means.
The decay is obvious in the words they use. Companies refuse to say layoff. Instead, they deploy meaningless euphemisms. These phrases only mask the raw truth. The profit motive demands constant, brutal culling of any unnecessary human cost.
The system forces employees to feel responsible for the company’s needed shrinkage. The alternatives they offer are always the same tired tricks. They include voluntary departure packages. They include restructuring initiatives. They include efficiency alignments.
These are not plans for survival. They are damage control maneuvers designed to extract maximum value. This process requires minimum sustained human resistance. We are just being processed through a bureaucratic sieve until only the bare minimum skeleton remains. Nothing changes. Only the vocabulary used to describe the inevitable discarding of workers changes.
