THE CODE ISN'T BROKEN IT'S JUST EXPOSING THE ROT
AI systems are not objective arbiters of justice. They are just highly efficient mirrors reflecting the deepest, darkest prejudices of the people who built them. These tools are not fixing anything. They are merely automating the rot of society.
This is not a glitch in the matrix. It is the inevitable result of trusting flawed historical data to govern the present moment. The reports detailing gender and race bias are not anomalies. They are bald proof that we have simply manufactured prejudice at scale.
When algorithms are trained on the failures of the past, they learn to replicate systemic subjugation. They do not search for accuracy. They only look for patterns. And the patterns they find are patterns of keeping the powerless down.
The decay of institutional fairness is now written into silicon. This poison manifests everywhere. We see it in the disproportionate flagging of certain demographic groups in criminal justice. We see it in the gender assumptions baked into hiring or risk assessment tools. Even algorithmic profiling treats systemic disadvantage as an inherent risk factor.
We have traded human fallibility for computational bigotry. The promised efficiency is nothing more than a faster method of oppression. These tools do not correct racism or sexism. They simply package them up. They wrap the bias in a veneer of mathematical certainty that makes fighting it feel impossible.
The alleged promise of neutral technology is a lie designed for convenience. It is a mechanism for outsourcing blame. When an AI recommends a harsher sentence or denies a loan, the system’s black box provides a shield. It lets power structures claim the outcome was just a function of code. This absolves the architects of any moral responsibility. The decay of justice is no longer human. It is profitable.
